Indicator for multiple candle patterns

There are several indicators that can show candle stick patterns on a chart as they occur for individual patterns. But are there any indicators available that will show combinations of patterns that you can select?

E.g. a doji on its own is not very reliable, but a double doji is much better.

Optimizing an EA

Can anyone suggest any guides to the best method of optimizing an EA?

My approach has been a bit haphazard, pick a variable and test it with different values, then move to the next variable. It can be quite drawn out if there a lot of variables, especially as this gives you multiple combination permutations to contend with.
